What is delayed puberty? Delayed puberty is when puberty hasn't started by age 9 for females and 12 for males. Precocious puberty usually occurs before the age of eight in girls and before the age of nine in boys. The cause is often unknown. Symptoms in girls include breast development and a first period. Symptoms in boys include enlarged testicles and penis, a deepening voice and facial hair, often on the upper lip. Treatment typically involves medication to delay further development.

Emotional Changes Girls Experience | Puberty

02:02
Watch more How to Survive Puberty videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/499533-Emotional-Changes-Girls-Experience-Puberty Okay, so you're really upset one minute at your mom, and then you go to the Taylor Swift concert with your girlfriend, and you're having the time of your life. You get home, your brother said something the wrong way, and you scream at him. What is going on here, you wonder. You are experiencing mood swings, which are such a normal part of puberty I can't even tell you, everybody goes through them. One minute you're happy, one minute you're upset, one minute you're crying, one minute you're laughing; it's all normal. And the reason is, all the hormones that are responsible for those physical changes that are going on in your body, are also making changes in your mind and emotions, and the hormones fluctuate and go up and down, and your moods go up and down accordingly. All of this is normal and nothing to worry about. What can be concerning is, you may want to figure out ways to deal with it, so your moods don't get the better of you. The first thing I recommend is talking to somebody that you trust. You can talk to your parents. If you're not comfortable doing that, you can talk to a best friend, you can talk to a coach, a guidance counselor, your doctor, just talk about things that are bothering you, getting something off your chest tends to really help. And also, try not to react immediately. Your poor little brother, if you just yelled at him immediately, take a second, count backwards from ten if you need to. If you don't react immediately you'll find that you can probably make a more level-headed response. The next I'm going to recommend is getting enough sleep. You need roughly eight to ten hours of sleep at your age, and you're probably not getting them if you're burning the candles at both ends and having so many activities. Try to schedule a time for sleep, it definitely helps regulate your mood swings. The other thing is to exercise, and I can't express how important this is. 30 minutes of exercise a day will definitely help level out your moods, and make those mood swings less up and down. The last thing I want to mention is you need to find ways to relax, ways that work for you, whether it's taking your cell phone for a walk, whether it's doing yoga, whether it's watching a television show that makes you laugh, find something that's relaxing. Spend a few minutes each day on something just for you, so that you can level out your mood swings and get through puberty just like everyone else. You're on your way.

Ages & Stages of Puberty for Girls | Puberty

01:52
Watch more How to Survive Puberty videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/499539-Ages-and-Stages-of-Puberty-for-Girls-Puberty So, you're changing for gym class, and you notice that everyone around you is wearing training bras, but you're not and you're feeling kind of embarassed. Or, you go to a sleepover party and all the girls are talking about how relieved they are that they don't have pubic hair yet, but you've already started developing it and you're feeling embarassed, too. Puberty is a time of change. And a lot of stuff is going on in your body and it occurs at all different times for different people and it's all normal. I promise you something. Even if you start later or earlier, everyone is eventually going to catch up. So there's no need to feel embarassed or upset about what's going on. It's all a normal part of the process. Here's a look at what's going on during puberty if you're a girl. One of the first stages is that your breasts start to develop, and that occurs around the age of eight or ten. But, of course, it can occur earlier or later for some girls. The next thing that happens is you'll notice some pubic hair, and that's hair in your genital region that will start off sort of thin and soft at first and may get dark and curlier as you get older. The next thing is that you experience a growth spurt. And for girls, you may sprout up a few inches, you may gain a little weight, and you may notice that your body is becoming a bit curvier. All of this is normal. About two to two and a half years after your breasts start to develop you may get your first period. And that's when you start to bleed every month and that's a normal part of puberty also. Different changes that can occur after that are hair growth. You may notice the hair on your legs or your arms getting darker or thicker. Totally normal. Also, hair may start to grow underneath your armpits. This is normal, too. In addition, you might develop oily hair and a little bit of acne. That is a normal part of puberty, too. Just remember, we've all been through this, too. And you will make it through and become a happy and healthy woman.

Puberty: The Hormones Involved | Biology for All | FuseSchool

02:17
Hormones are chemical messengers secreted by glands and have specific target organs. In this lesson, you will learn about hormones that stimulate changes to your body during puberty. Puberty is the timeframe when secondary sexual characteristics develop – in other words, when a boy matures physically to a man, and a girl to a woman. In males, your testes secrete a hormone called testosterone, also known as the male hormone. Testosterone stimulates a wide variety of physiological changes, including increased body hair (especially on your face and in your armpits), more muscle mass, and your voice deepening. As well, testosterone also stimulates sperm cell production in your testes. In females, the hormone responsible for physical changes during puberty is oestrogen, also known as the female hormone. It is secreted by your ovaries and is responsible for some body hair growth, widening of the hips, and development of breasts. Oestrogen also plays an important role in regulating the menstrual cycle, as described in more detail in another lesson. It thickens the uterus lining in anticipation of ovulation, which is the release of a mature egg from an ovary. In addition, oestrogen stimulates the pituitary gland to secrete the luteinising hormone, which is directly responsible for ovulation. Progesterone is another hormone secreted by your ovaries, and works to maintain the uterus lining thickened by oestrogen. This continues to occur even during pregnancy, so to support the growing foetus. In conclusion, the development of secondary sexual characteristics during puberty is stimulated by testosterone in males, and oestrogen in females. Oestrogen and progesterone are important hormones in regulating the menstrual cycle in females. SUBSCRIBE to the FuseSchool YouTube channel for many more educational videos. Effects of Puberty on a Girl's Weight | Puberty

03:12
Watch more How to Survive Puberty videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/499529-Effects-of-Puberty-on-a-Girls-Weight-Puberty So you're going through puberty, and you notice that your body is changing quite a bit. You might have packed on some pounds, you might be a little curvier, your breast might be developing, and all of these changes may make you feel confused and wonder what's going on. Puberty brings on a lot of changes and some of those are weight gain, and a lot of girls get really, really upset over this, but it's normal, and it's part of becoming a woman. What you need to remember is, when you look at magazines and watch television shows, the media is dictating to us what women should look like, and unfortunately, today skinny equals being attractive, equals being more successful, and means being more popular, and that is not necessarily a depiction of what girls look like in our country. We come in all different shapes and sizes, and it's okay to be exactly who you are. Girls are very vulnerable during puberty, and one thing that can happen is they can develop an eating disorder. Eating disorders can plague girls at all different ages, but in puberty you're feeling a little vulnerable, you're feeling a little bit unsure how you look, and unfortunately you may develop some sort of disordered eating pattern. One eating disorder that I want to discuss called anorexia, you probably heard of it, it means literally starving yourself, starving your body of that calories that it needs. Bulimia is another type of eating disorder, which is when girls binge, or eat a lot, and then they purge their body somehow of these calories. They either vomit, or they take laxatives to get rid of all the calories. And another eating disorder that people don't talk about is called excessive exercising, and that's when girl will go out and like a hurricane exercise 24/7 in the hopes of losing weight. All of these eating disorders are dangerous, and they're not a safe way to lose weight. In addition, if you are concerned about your weight, going on a fad diet is what not to do. Fad diets like Atkins, HCG, bee pollen, grapefruit diet, South Beach, I've heard about all of them, and let me tell you something, they don't really work. While in the short term they may work for you, in the long term if you don't sustain them, you're going to gain back the weight, and that you're going to put the pounds right back on. It is much healthier to make lifestyle changes, like exercising regularly, like watching what you eat, and making sure that you're eating enough to maintain a healthy weight. If you know someone, or if this is you, this fad dieting, you have anorexia, bulimia, or is exercising 24/7; look for the red flag, look for these warning signs. They may be thin, they may be super thin, they may be wearing baggy clothes, they may be skipping meals, they may be pale, they may feel weak and dizzy, and they may be excusing themselves to go to the bathroom during class and vomiting. If you're doing this behavior or notice it in a friend, make sure to let them know that you are concerned, or if this is you, go get help. Recognizing a problem is the first step for recovery, there's a lot of help out there. A lot of women have battled eating disorders, they've done fad diets, they've lost weight unhealthily, and you too can recover from this, and develop normal eating patterns. You are a normal individual, you are beautiful just the way you are, and your body shape is going to develop normally, and healthfully, and beautifully.

Puberty in girls , stages of puberty girls

Please watch: "How to grow taller ? Only Hang Exercise" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sGeR4ceB98 --~-- TUTORIAL : http://zainal5185.GT4IDIOTS.hop.clickbank.net?tid=yt Adolescence and puberty can be so confusing! Here’s some info on what to expect and when: Puberty in girls usually starts between the ages of 8 and 13 and ends by around 14. For boys, puberty usually starts between 10 and 14, and ends by around 15 or 16. For girls, one of the first signs of puberty usually is their breasts starting to grow. Getting your period (menstruation) usually happens later, around two years after breast growth starts. In between, you’ll probably start to see more hair in places like under your arms and in your pubic area. Puberty involves big changes to your shape, including getting taller (which stops when puberty ends). Of course, it can be hard to have your body change at a slower or faster rate than your friends’ bodies. If how fast or slow your body is changing is upsetting you, talk to an adult you trust. If you’re developing slower or faster than you think you should, your body may just be changing at its own natural rate. It’s a good idea to let your doctor know if you start puberty before age 8. Also let your doctor know if you don’t have any signs of puberty by the time you’re 14. Your doctor can check whether a medical problem is involved. Girls, see if this sounds familiar. You look in a mirror one morning and notice you're taller -- and rounder. Through your nightgown, you see your breasts are bigger. You don't remember looking like that a few weeks ago! Over the next few weeks, you start noticing hair in places you've never had hair before. You've heard girls at school talk about getting their periods, and you wonder if that will happen to you soon. You feel ultraconfident, and then super sensitive -- all in the same day. What in the world is going on? Welcome to puberty. Technically speaking, puberty is nature's way of transforming a child into an adult, all for the sake of reproduction. While both girls and boys go through puberty, girls reach puberty and sexual maturity at earlier ages than boys do. So what's causing all of these changes? Hormones! Actually, the female hormone estrogen is the main one that's triggering all the changes in your body. Let's look at some of the changes girls can expect at puberty. Increase in Height and Weight Starting at around age 9, girls begin to gain about 17% to 18% of their adult height. If someone has commented that you are "all hands and feet," it's true! Your limbs grow first, then your trunk. Most girls grow fastest about six months before they start their first period (menarche). You'll probably gain weight in puberty -- most girls do. You may notice more body fat along the upper arms, thighs, and upper back. Your hips will grow rounder and wider; your waist will become narrower. Your doctor will check your height and weight each year to make sure you are growing properly. If you are gaining weight too fast, you may need to increase your exercise and substitute fruits and vegetables for junk foods. Puberty Breast Development Breast development is an early sign of puberty in girls. This can happen before age 9 in some girls, but later in others. If you are self-conscious, you might want to start wearing a "training bra," which is a soft bra with no real support. Talk to your mom, older sister, or an aunt about buying a training bra. They can help you to make sure you get one that is comfortable and that lets you feel confident in your clothes.
