MATERIAL REQUIREMENT PLANNING IN HINDI | Meaning | Objectives | Operations Management | BBA/MBA ppt

08:36
#YouTubeTaughtMe PRODUCTION AND OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT (POM) This video consists of followings: 1. Concept and meaning of Materials Requirement Planning (MRP): Material Requirement Planning is a special technique to plan the requirements of materials for production. For the manufacturing company to produce the end items to meet demands the availability of sufficient production capacity must be coordinated with the availability of all raw materials and purchased items from which, the end items are to be produced. MRP is a computer-based system in which the given MPS (master production schedule) is exploded into the required amounts of raw materials, parts and sub-assemblies needed to produce the end items in each time period (week or month) of the planning horizon. The gross requirement of these materials is reduced to net requirements by taking into account the materials that are in inventory or on order. 2. Objectives of Material Requirement Planning: i. It determines the quantity and timing of finished goods demanded. ii. It determines the time phased requirements of the demand for materials, components and sub-assemblies over a specified planning time horizon. iii. It computes the inventories, work-in-process batch sizes and manufacturing and packing lead times. iv. It controls inventory by ordering materials and components in relation to orders received rather than ordering them from stock level point of view. v. It improves customer service by meeting delivery schedules promised and shortening the delivery lead times. vi. It reduces inventory cost by reducing inventory levels. vii. It improves plant operating efficiency by better use of productive resources. Check out my BLOG : http://www.pptwalablog.blogspot.in/ Reference books for Production management: 1. Production Planning and control ( 1 )

01:22
Production planning is the planning of production and manufacturing modules in a company or industry. It utilizes the resource allocation of activities of employees, materials and production capacity, in order to serve different customers.[1] Different types of production methods, such as single item manufacturing, batch production, mass production, continuous production etc. have their own type of production planning. Production planning can be combined with production control into production planning and control, or it can be combined and or integrated into enterprise resource planning. Production planning is used in companies in several different industries, including agriculture, industry, amusement industry, etc. Production planning is a plan for the future production, in which the facilities needed are determined and arranged.[2] A production planning is made periodically for a specific time period, called the planning horizon. It can comprise the following activities: Determination of the required product mix and factory load to satisfy customers needs.[3] Matching the required level of production to the existing resources.[4] Scheduling and choosing the actual work to be started in the manufacturing facility"[1][1] Setting up and delivering production orders to production facilities.[5] In order to develop production plans, the production planner or production planning department needs to work closely together with the marketing department and sales department. They can provide sales forecasts, or a listing of customer orders."[6] The "work is usually selected from a variety of product types which may require different resources and serve different customers. Therefore, the selection must optimize customer-independent performance measures such as cycle time and customer-dependent performance measures such as on-time delivery."[1] A critical factor in production planning is "the accurate estimation of the productive capacity of available resources, yet this is one of the most difficult tasks to perform well."[7] Production planning should always take "into account material availability, resource availability and knowledge of future demand."[5]

Value Analysis Of Material Management Product VMC712

10:08
The product developed here manages three main departments viz., Purchase, Sales and Stock. The purchase department handles the work of sending orders to the vendors and purchase of raw materials. The purchase department administrator is capable of adding a new vendor when necessary. The sales department deals with the sales procedure. Once the production of goods is complete the department transfers it to the client and generates a detailed document which is used to generate the invoice. The stock department handles the operations of inventory. The stock department is the module which also handles the value analysis where it is capable of calculating the raw materials which the company will be needing in the next year based upon the usage of materials in the last year. There is a master module called the ADMIN which can view all the details of the administrators of various departments and is capable of performing the same operations as that of the administrators of all the departments. The admin module will be used by the branch managers. However, the administrators have to register before they can use the product and this can be done only if the branch manager logs in. Integrated Material Handling Solutions - Unit Load Sortation Conveyor System

04:01
Integrated Conveyor/AGV System for Sortation and Stacking As the central component of a warehouse automation project, Egemin Automation has developed a fully integrated unit load sortation and stacking system. Several production lines feed product into a main trunk line. The product cubes are presented on slip sheets and are stretch wrapped. The system design enhances AGV availability and lowers the overall vehicle count by pairing similar products to be stacked by the AGVs to be delivered to the warehouse as double stacks. The main line CDLR conveyor moves product through the system, while the stops and transfers "sort" the loads into the correct two-position spur. These spurs are designed for AGV interactions such as; the supports at the pick points are inset and the guards have been modified to improve access for the clamp. In addition, the conveyor works in unison with the clamp AGV to stack product. One of the most important aspects of the system is the communication between the customer's management software, Egemin's Warehouse Management Software (E'wms), and the conveyor control PLC. Together they track the loads throughout the warehouse and determine which loads will be paired where. Egemin is located at 11818 James St in Holland, MI 49424. If you would like to learn more about the system and integrated material handling solutions, please contact Egemin Automation at 616-393-0101 or contact Egemin PR and Marketing at http://www.egeminusa.com/contact_PRMkt.html today. This can be achieved easily using the Vlookup function and a named range from the items list.. The stock on site also displays the relevat item description and unit. The total stock from the recieved list minus the quantity from the issued list is automatically displayed using the sumif function. Finally we use the conditional formatting feature of Microsoft Excel to highlight negative quantities in case we have issued more quantity than received. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JjM-8w6lVWA For more details go here: http://www.familycomputerclub.com/Inventory-Solution-in-Microsoft-Excel.html You can download the template here: http://www.familycomputerclub.com/Inventory-Solution-in-Microsoft-Excel.html The link is below the video. What does PROCUREMENT mean? PROCUREMENT meaning - PROCUREMENT pronunciation - PROCUREMENT definition - PROCUREMENT explanation - How to pronounce PROCUREMENT? Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. Procurement is the act of finding, acquiring, buying goods, services or works from an external source, often via a tendering or competitive bidding process. The process is used to ensure the buyer receives goods, services or works the best possible price, when aspects such as quality, quantity, time, and location are compared. Corporations and public bodies often define processes intended to promote fair and open competition for their business while minimizing risk, such as exposure to fraud and collusion. Almost all purchasing decisions include factors such as delivery and handling, marginal benefit, and price fluctuations. Procurement generally involves making buying decisions under conditions of scarcity. If good data is available, it is good practice to make use of economic analysis methods such as cost-benefit analysis or cost-utility analysis. An important distinction should be made between analyses without risk and those with risk. Where risk is involved, either in the costs or the benefits, the concept of best value should be employed. Procurement activities are often split into two distinct categories, direct and indirect spend. Direct spend refers to production-related procurement that encompasses all items that are part of finished products, such as raw material, components and parts. The first category being direct, production-related procurement and the second being indirect, non-production-related procurement. Direct procurement, which is the focus in supply chain management, directly affects the production process of manufacturing firms. In contrast, indirect procurement activities concern “operating resources” that a company purchases to enable its operations. Indirect procurement comprises a wide variety of goods and services, from standardized items like office supplies and machine lubricants to complex and costly products and services;, like heavy equipment, consulting services, and outsourcing services. Procurement is one component of the broader concept of sourcing and acquisition. Typically procurement is viewed as more tactical in nature (the process of physically buying a product or service) and sourcing and acquisition are viewed as more strategic and encompassing. The Institute of Supply Management defines strategic sourcing as the process of identifying sources that could provide needed products or services for the acquiring organization. The term procurement used to reflect the entire purchasing process or cycle, and not just the tactical components. ISM defines procurement as an organizational function that includes specifications development, value analysis, supplier market research, negotiation, buying activities, contract administration, inventory control, traffic, receiving and stores. Purchasing refers to the major function of an organization that is responsible for acquisition of required materials, services and equipment. The United States Defense Acquisition University (DAU) defines procurement as the act of buying goods and services for the government. DAU defines acquisition as the conceptualization, initiation, design, development, test, contracting, production, deployment, Logistics Support (LS), modification, and disposal of weapons and other systems, supplies, or services (including construction) to satisfy Department of Defense needs, intended for use in or in support of military missions. Acquisition and sourcing are therefore much wider concepts than procurement. Multiple sourcing business models exist, and acquisition models exist.

Understanding the IPC-1752A Material Declaration Management Standard

03:33
Material declaration data exchanges can be time consuming and difficult. Certain directives, such as the European Union RoHS Directive, place restrictions on the use of specific materials and substances in products. In 2005, the JIG101 joint industry guide materials composition declaration for electronic products was released to identify materials and substances required for disclosure. This guide was then superseded by the IEC 62474 material declaration standard. The Institute of Printed Circuits (IPC) and its associates created a data exchange standard to support these initiatives, as well as ones that will develop in the future. The IPC-1752 standard establishes a common reporting format for material declaration data exchanges throughout the entire supply chain. The current version of the standard, IPC-1752A, is a reporting format in an XML Schema that supports various classes of material declarations: Class A, Class B, Class C and Class D. The standard supports reporting of bulk materials, components, printed circuit boards, sub-assemblies and products. The IPC-1752A standard is supported by third-party solution providers which allow users to create, change and read the standard’s XML Schema. The Assent Compliance Platform (ACP) is a comprehensive compliance solution for materials management. The elegant suite of products provides companies with everything they need to import, extract, alter and export the IPC-1752A standard — streamlining the entire reporting and data collection process. What Is Supply Chain Management?

03:26
Do you want to know what is a supply chain Management? Study supply chain management courses online at Brentwood Open Learning College: http://www.bolc.co.uk. Supply Chain Management is the process of planning and maintaining the movement of materials and products among a number of companies to supply goods and services to final consumers.People use diverse names for these chains of activities and organizations. When they highlight the operations, they call it a process When they focus on marketing, they call it a logistics channel When they emphasize the value added, they call it a value chain When they observe how shopper demands are fulfilled, they call it a demand chain All this makes a supply chain Each product has its own exclusive supply chain and these supply chains can be extended and difficult. The supply chain represents the entire journey of materials as they flow ‘from dirt to dirt’. During the trip, materials might flow through • Raw materials suppliers • Finishing operations • Manufacturers • Logistics centers • Third party operators • Warehouses • Transport companies • Wholesalers • Retailers And an entire range of other operations. Sometimes, the supply chain moves beyond the end customer to add re-use and recycling of materials. Certificate in supply chain management level 2 is designed to deliver the knowledge about the practices of supply chain management. What is BILL OF MATERIALS? What does BILL OF MATERIALS mean? BILL OF MATERIALS meaning & explanation

06:38
✪✪✪✪✪ WORK FROM HOME! Looking for WORKERS for simple Internet data entry JOBS. $15-20 per hour. SIGN UP here - http://jobs.theaudiopedia.com ✪✪✪✪✪ What is BILL OF MATERIALS? What does BILL OF MATERIALS mean? BILL OF MATERIALS meaning - BILL OF MATERIALS definition - BILL OF MATERIALS explanation. Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. A bill of materials or product structure (sometimes bill of material, BOM or associated list) is a list of the raw materials, sub-assemblies, intermediate assemblies, sub-components, parts and the quantities of each needed to manufacture an end product. A BOM may be used for communication between manufacturing partners, or confined to a single manufacturing plant. A bill of materials is often tied to a production order whose issuance may generate reservations for components in the bill of materials that are in stock and requisitions for components that are not in stock. A BOM can define products as they are designed (engineering bill of materials), as they are ordered (sales bill of materials), as they are built (manufacturing bill of materials), or as they are maintained (service bill of materials or pseudo bill of material). The different types of BOMs depend on the business need and use for which they are intended. In process industries, the BOM is also known as the formula, recipe, or ingredients list. The phrase "bill of material" (or BOM) is frequently used by engineers as an adjective to refer not to the literal bill, but to the current production configuration of a product, to distinguish it from modified or improved versions under study or in test. In electronics, the BOM represents the list of components used on the printed wiring board or printed circuit board. Once the design of the circuit is completed, the BOM list is passed on to the PCB layout engineer as well as component engineer who will procure the components required for the design. BOMs are of hierarchical nature, with the top level representing the finished product which may be a sub-assembly or a completed item. BOMs that describe the sub-assemblies are referred to as modular BOMs. An example of this is the NAAMS BOM that is used in the automotive industry to list all the components in an assembly line. The structure of the NAAMS BOM is System, Line, Tool, Unit and Detail. The first hierarchical databases were developed for automating bills of materials for manufacturing organizations in the early 1960s. At present, this BOM is used as a data base to identify the many parts and their codes in automobile manufacturing companies. A bill of materials "implosion" links component pieces to a major assembly, while a bill of materials "explosion" breaks apart each assembly or sub-assembly into its component parts. A modular BOM can be displayed in the following formats: A single-level BOM that displays the assembly or sub-assembly with only one level of children. Thus it displays the components directly needed to make the assembly or sub-assembly. An indented BOM that displays the highest-level item closest to the left margin and the components used in that item indented more to the right. Modular (planning) BOM A BOM can also be visually represented by a product structure tree, although they are rarely used in the workplace. For example, one of them is Time-Phased Product Structure where this diagram illustrates the time needed to build or acquire the needed components to assemble the final product. For each product, the time phased product structure shows the sequence and duration of each operation.

Thinking of Material Management as Waste

07:13
Handling material does not change the form, fit or function of the product. There was in the past, however, the tendency to think of material handling as not valuable, and work that should be minimized as a form of waste. I’ll discuss how wrong-headed that idea is.
