Debra Laraman, designer and tutor, demonstrates how to use a template (created using the Easy Draw rulers) to sketch a fashion figure stance. The system is based on 81/2 head canon. By following the Easy Draw systematic approach to fashion drawing, anyone can overcome the difficulties of freehand drawing of fashion figures, skirts, trousers, jackets, shorts, shirts and more. Once you have mastered the Easy Draw system you should have the confidence to develop your own style further and the rulers will be a valuable aid in your future drawings and illustrations. OTHER BENEFITS: -Prêt-à-Template is a sketchbook with unlimited pages! -No paper waste. -The sketchbook is always on your side: you can use it while offline (online mode only for iCloud synchronization, PSD export or sharing). -Draw, redesign and change your mind as many times as you want. Make a copy of your drawing so you are able to modify it infinite times without losing the original idea. -Export the layers to continue your drawing on Photoshop. -Split your iPad's PRO screen between Prêt-à-Template and multitask with other apps. - The zoom provides an incredible experience for details (which cannot be experienced on paper). - Easy to store, send and share. SCHOOLS / FASHION COURSES AND TEACHERS: Prêt-à-Template is also a teaching tool: instead of using the blackboard to show the development of fashion designs, you can connect the iPad (via a VGA cable) on the projector of your classroom and present all the process live, showing even small details to a large number of students. RECOMMENDATIONS: -Draw using your finger or stylus (not digital). For a realistic drawing experience, use Apple Pencil on your iPad PRO.

Yes I did figure out how to rename the file right after I uploaded the video. Can you imagine sitting on a bus and drafting a pattern straight on your iPad? Or waiting at the doctors office and getting some design work done without having to bring a laptop and a tablet with you? Hi! I'm super excited about this video because in it I will be demoing just a few of the things the iPad pro is capable of, along with a short tutorial on how to digitize the basic bodice block with the Graphic app available in the App Store. I briefly go over the Concepts app as well, a drawing app that I use for fashion sketches. The main focus here is showing off what the iPad pro can do in terms of digitizing and drafting. Get the Concepts app for free, or the pro version for $7.99, and the Graohic app, formerly known as iDraw, for $8.99. Stay tuned as I learn more about drafting with the iPad pro and it's available apps.

What materials do you use for your drawings? I use Copic Ciao markers and Touch Twin Markers, Quill Multiboard white paper, 2B and HB Pentel and Faber-Castell 0.5 mechanical pencils and Faber-Castell PVC-Free Space Eraser (Cool name) and I use Uni-ball Signo white fineliner 2. Did you go to any art school or academy? No. I am taking Studio Arts in senior high school right now. It's not from that class that I learned what I know. I am learning new things from the class, but so far, not to do with fashion illustration or manga drawings. I go to a regular high school, so it doesn't specialize in art. 3. How do you draw the models? Do you use any templates? I started out by tracing models from magazines which is harder than it sounds, but once you get the hang of it, its pretty easy. Then of course, I searched all types of videos on YouTube and some sites as well on Google, which unfortunately, I don't remember. 4. How old are you? I am now 17 years old 5. How long have you been drawing? I'm pretty sure I started drawing at 6. That's probably my oldest memory of me drawing. I got into manga drawings when I was 11 years old, I started teaching myself how to draw manga when I was 13 years old. I started developing an interest in fashion design also when I was 11, but I pursued that interest or taken it further at the age of 14. So, I would say I started drawing fashion illustration at the age of 14. 6. Where do you get your inspiration? I get my inspiration from music, photos on Instagram, fashion trends, things that I love. There are times where I am just in an Artist's Block and I feel really brain dead where I can't draw. Or I force myself to draw and it never turns out to be something I like. I am currently in an Artist's Block which has been going on since late October 2011, and I am finding ways to get out of it. I'll keep you posted on how I break through it :] 7. Do you have any links or books you can recommend? Definitely! Fashion Illustration by Anna Kiper and Fashion Poses for Fashion Illustrators by Sha Tahmasebi are two books that I own at the moment. I'm hoping to get more. These two books are very helpful if you're a beginner or even if you want to be a bit more advanced. http://www.monkeysee.com/play/5156-how-to-draw-clothes-on-a-fashion-figure this is a very basic tutorial but seriously, this tutorial helped me when I was just starting. What materials do you mainly use for your drawings? In general, I use Copic Ciao markers and Touch Twin Markers, Quill Multiboard A4 white paper, 2B and HB Pentel and Faber-Castell 0.5 mechanical pencil and Faber-Castell PVC-Free Space Eraser (Cool name) and I use Uni-ball Signo white fineliner 2. Did you go to any art school or academy? No. I took Studio Arts in senior high school. It's not from that class that I learned evreything I know. I did learn new things from the class, but not to do with fashion illustration or manga drawings. I went to a regular high school, so it doesn't specialize in art. 3. How do you draw the models? Do you use any templates? I started out by tracing models from magazines which is harder than it sounds, but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy. Then of course, I searched all types of videos on YouTube and some sites as well on Google, which unfortunately, I don't remember. How I learned to draw my models is using the 9-Head technique. 4. How old are you? I am now 19 years old 5. I get my inspiration from music, photos on Instagram, Tumblr fashion trends, things that I love. There are times where I am just in an Artist's Block and I feel really brain dead where I can't draw. Or I force myself to draw and it never turns out to be something that I like. 7. MUSIC: RetroFuture Clean by Kevin MacLeod NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED
