Taste Testing Polish Food #2 [Kult America]

2690 ratings | 86823 views
On this episode of Kult America I'm going on a food journey of my life, to taste dishes typical for a place, that is very close to my heart, which is Podkarpacie. There will be not only simple, peasant food, but also some nobleman hunting dishes. And of course, a lot of pierogi!

MrBartnick (20 hours ago)
No właśnie. Nie ma jednych, "słusznych" pierogów i rosołu. W każdym domu smakują nieco inaczej.

Every culture has its dumplings. Gyoza, Pelemeni, Ravioli, Dim Sum dumplings,.... In my region, Baden Württemberg, Germany, they’re called Maultaschen. The catholic monks weren’t allowed to eat meat on Fridays. So they hid the meat in dough.

Golabki should be shown and tried also. My family sometimes makes those, when they do, they make a massive pan and everybody pigs out on them. The ones we make are pork, rice, onion and salt/pepper, wrapped in cabbage leaves and boiled in tomato sauce. It creates an amazing flavour as the vinegar in the sauce is mostly boiled off, and reacts along with the tomato and cabbage leaves to create an amazing flavour. It's true comfort food...

We have some of our own muslims... And im talking about Polish Tatar's:) They was always loyal to Rzeczpospolita Polska and they spill their blood not a once time to protect our Fatherland. They have full respect here and they are fully accepted in Poland. We dont have an ape's and goatshaggers from african/middle-eastern shitholes and parasites like that here, and that's the difference, between Poland and the Western Europe.

Did you know, that there is a "Steam Punk" themed restaurant, in Warsaw, Poland. I would love to go, to that one,... My name is, Evona A Grochowski. I was born in Warsaw, Poland. Currently, I am living in Phoenix, Az. I could cook Polish Food for you, every single, day,...OMG,..! And guess what, we have something major incommon, I have a pierogi up session too. When my grandmother was living, along with her house keeper, and we went to visit them, in Piastov, her house keeper, asked me what s my favorite Polish food,..? I said, Blue Berry Pierogi, Are you ready for this, one,..? She made it for me, the entire day,..! OMG,..and these are blue berries from, Poland. They that taste totally different, wouldn't you, agree,..? Oh, and you have to try a recipe, called: "Hunter s Stew",...you are on my favorite subject, Polish food, and Poland. Oh, I wish, we could go, together,..! That would be one amazing,... video,..!

Polish women are the most beautiful women in the world. Per capita, Poland must rank high for very attractive women. Unfortunately most Polish men, such as myself, look like ogres. Polish sausages are very thick and hearty, so I guess that counts for something.

My first experience with Polish food was stopping at an Orlen in Ostróda. It was Pierogis, and at the time I didn't know what it was called so I just pointed to something and the guys there made it for me. It was so good even if its 'gas station food'. I think Poland's quick food is 10x better than what I got here in Texas.
muzgnasicianie (21 days ago)
But.... real Texas steak??? Must be great!
Northern Sailor (1 month ago)
I've been to Lithuania. They got that Forto Dvaras on Pilies street in Vilnius. its pretty good stuff.
LastDrakkar82 (1 month ago)
Good to hear that they are tasted good:) But the true "pierogi" (i love "ruskie pierogi", and they are not Russian but Lithuanian:) must be maded with pork cracklings and served by an original Polish "babushka", with a fresh "kefir" or "maślanka" to drink... And im writing this with a bottle of Jack Daniel's Tennessee Fire, Marlboro cigarette, Zippo lighter in one hand and waiting for my pierogi for my dinner... And dreaming about a real Texas bbq if i must be honest :D

I wanna move to Poland...

I think you both misunderstood each other, plus he was not a gentleman. He propably thought that you are trying to go without a ticket and overreacted before anything happened. Sorry for that experience. Next time you are in PL, visit Zakopane, its interesing place
Northern Sailor (2 months ago)
Well, it was a bus station for a lot of different buses, and he asked me what I was doing in English, I guess because I went around asking about this particular bus I read online from Suwałki to Wilno, and he asked if I had any money or a credit card, I told him no (even though I had quite a bit of money in different currencies), then he said the police here would arrest me if I was having no money. He then goes and speaks Polish to this security guard, and I was asking about the EuroBus line to there, because I read I could pay for it on the bus, but he was saying that office is closed on wednesday. back to when he goes to security, he imitates handcuffs around his hands and points at me I guess to scare me. So I then took whatever cab (taxi) was around, and I told the driver to take me to hotel logos, and I stayed there for the night. That was the only strange experience I had in your beautiful country. Also, Lithuania was not near as exciting (only went for a girl).I also learned a little bit of Polish.
shityshity (2 months ago)
Frankly speaking i dont get the situation. Do i understand right? Some guy wanted to get security on you, because you said you have no money? That's surreal, he might have been not in his best state of mind, i dont know haha. You can be totally broke and walk free

Phenomenal drone shots Ryan, not to mention how incredible the food looks. Being Scottish, I am used to wild meat and fresh seafood, however your food looked exceptional. We also have nettle soup in Scotland, my grandparents used to clear it from around their croft to make it. Food passed to us by previous generations has such an impact in our lives today, it creates joy and happiness and has the ability to alter our mood as well as our taste buds.
