I know you rank based off of PT and GP top 8’s, I just can’t believe that Iroas, God of Victory wasn’t on here. I guess blanket menace and no combat damage for your attacking team was good enough
Nizzahon Magic (1 month ago)
He is not a creature a significant chunk of the time, and that effect is pretty crappy on a 4 mana enchantment. That's why he hasn't been played at all at high levels.
Xerdoz (1 month ago)
Rampaging Ferocidon is banned and they make a Planeswalker, Tibalt, which is even worse. Who the fuck they have designing this shit?
Matthew Lugo (1 month ago)
Um the slivers that have menace lol they give all slivers menace should be number 1
Joshua Drark (2 months ago)
Someone I know at my local game store thought Kari Zev was in her 30s or 40s. Though the character is like 15 years old.

"Menace means that a card is so frightening a sincle blocker cant handle it and needs a friend to be confident about blocking" My creatures always talk about their fears and insecurities with me, as well as how it feels to be into a relationship to combo, so are my creatures still vulnerable to menace?
Ezekiel Benavides (2 months ago)
Please do top ten cards in my Commander decks.
Elliott Canada (2 months ago)
Shadows over Innistrad to Hour of Devastation was apparently the most menacing standard ever.
Elliott Canada (2 months ago)
@Nizzahon Magic just won't if something like Wind Spirit had found a way to sneak on.
Nizzahon Magic (2 months ago)
Yep, Menace only became a keyword in 2015, so no surprise there
Dark Confidant (2 months ago)
What about Angrath from War of the Spark ?
Brian Varilla (2 months ago)
Woohoo, Obnoxious Gearhulk in the list.
CSpeeds (2 months ago)
Logan Rose (2 months ago)
R.I.P. Rampage
Hans Hertzman (2 months ago)
You should do a top 10 best planeswalkers of war of the spark! Thanks for the awesome content, apretiate it alot! Sorry that i cant be a patron, i just dont have money.
Nizzahon Magic (2 months ago)
Way too early to do a list on this topic, at least using this methodology. I am planning on ranking all 36 of the planeswalkers in Limited at some point, though
Brian Walters (2 months ago)
Not gonna miss Kaladesh block. Was way too OP. Good riddance.
jacob blackman (2 months ago)
JJS yes Saheeli combo Aether works marvel Energy All super powerful decks in from one set. I loved Kaladesh but that’s because I’m not really a standard player
Brian Walters (2 months ago)
@JJS Well, this block certainly has it's own issues. I just loathed Standard while Kaladesh was legal. /shrug
JJS (2 months ago)
Lol what? Even compared to current block?
Will Hibbard (2 months ago)
Thank you for ramping up the amount of content you put out. I apologise that I can't be a patron, but you know that I'm gonna like this every time. So thanks
xnoluck (2 months ago)
Top 10 pauper Top ten hate bear Top ten blocks Top ten sacrifice Top ten unblockable Top ten dinosaurs, or other creature types Top ten card draw Top ten most annoying decks Honestly just tossing out ideas to help grow the channel. Love these top tens, keep up the great work.
dlollolb (2 months ago)
Imagine being a terrifying demon of death and pain or a mastodontic dragon able to tear entire worlds apart, but you need to call a friend to deal with some dude with a jackal head and a pointy stick because it's just too spooky for you to take alone
Mattman324 (2 months ago)
n3croticism (2 months ago)
Kinda like some big bad humans are scared to death by little creatures like spiders or wasps.
Nonofya Bidnez (2 months ago)
Menace is my favorite mechanic ever. It is strong while not being overpowered. Also there is so much flavor win around it.
'Drew Swenson (2 months ago)
My all time favorite mechanic and my all time favorite card. Knew Zev would be #1 or #2.
Andrew Maciejunes (2 months ago)
Top 10 highest rated cards of all time.
assault410 (2 months ago)
Pretty sure he already did that
Bach Frog (2 months ago)
Man, a lot of these cards are all so new
Nizzahon Magic (2 months ago)
Menace is mostly new.
An Enemy Spy (2 months ago)
How good is Iroas? He gives all your boys Menace.
Danny Blake (2 months ago)
Insolent neonate also sees play in bridge from below decks. It has a very strong interaction where the bridge sees the neonate die so you also get a zombie token. Bridge vine is still good right?
alexei garbuz (2 months ago)
Great video 👍
You know what I'm gonna request by now. I've got to be a bit menacing at this point! *GIMME TOP 10 VINTAGE CARDS OR I'LL UNBAN RAMPAGING FEROCIDON!*
@Mighty Wulfgar Obviously excluding Power 9.
xnoluck (2 months ago)
^^see above, it's pretty duh at this point. Also, unban ferocidon and just ban hazoret
Mighty Wulfgar (2 months ago)
Drew Armstrong, The Glorious Lobster Emperor 1. Black Lotus 2. Ancestral Recall 3. Time Walk 4. Mox Sapphire 5. Mox Jet 6. Mox Ruby 7. Mox Pearl 8. Mox Emerald 9. Timetwister 10. Force of Will
Eric Tull (2 months ago)

Skullgrin (2 months ago)
All my red decks have Insolent Neonate. I love that sassy lad!
Casey Beiser (2 months ago)
It is a great card
HaydenX (2 months ago)
I''m sure that Kari Zev will find a home in Modern...probably a speedy, non-tribal Rakdos deck with some kind of decent sac outlet. I've been trying to make her work...but the deck just isn't there yet.
jacob blackman (2 months ago)
HaydenX I’ve been playing modern for years and the format has always been fast it’s always been a turn 4 format. Faithless looting saw a ton of play in grishoulbrand since inistrad was released. Necro was underrated because people back in the day didn’t understand card advantage. There are plenty of cards that are so close to seeing modern play that if the right cards get printed they will be busted. Kari zev is not one of those
HaydenX (2 months ago)
@jacob blackman It is right now...that's my point. What if the game slowed down due to some new control archetype/deck? What if there was a really easy way to protect smaller aggro creatures with potential long-term value propositions? How about this...It's probably worth the $1.50 to get a playset now, because there is a reasonable possibility that something in the future makes her more pricey than~$0.37 a pop.
HaydenX (2 months ago)
@jacob blackman I don't know what to tell you...if you honestly believe that there is no chance that a card that makes Kari Zev good for Modern is actually possible, then you've not been playing competitive MtG for long. There are obvious superstars...and then there are cards that are the right fit for a specific niche...and someday a card gets printed that causes Johnny archive bingers to say "That Standard card from a few years ago works really well with this card/deck." Keep in mind that Faithless Looting wasn't played in Modern for a while after it came out...now there are people calling for a ban. Sleepers are a serious thing in the history of MtG...one that keeps cropping up. NECROPOTENCE was a sleeper...keep that in mind. Any card which has the potential to grant tempo or advantage (Kari could grant either with the right outlet or combo) has the potential to be a tournament card...and the hundreds or thousands of people who passed up obtaining a card when it was less than a dollar, begrudgingly pick it up for $10 when it's in vogue.
jacob blackman (2 months ago)
HaydenX everything you’ve mentioned is why she’s sweet as a commander with accumulated value however modern is wayyy to fast for her
jacob blackman (2 months ago)
HaydenX the only chance I could see her seeing play is if an equipment cost 3 and said if a creature enters the battlefield attach it to that creature and whenever that creature deals combat damage you win the game. That’s literally the only way
Daniel Pichardo (2 months ago)
Please make top 10 hydras
Raymond Nico Balmes (2 months ago)
Something off-tangent: the inverse menace mechanic (the one that only allows one opponent's creature to block an attacking creature) should be given a keyword of its own. Since menace is already in existence, do any of you have any good ideas for this one?
Nug Humper (2 months ago)
Ahould be called "Challenge"
Raymond Nico Balmes (2 months ago)
@Zachary Sullivan duelist sounds nice. I like it
11254man (2 months ago)
Zachary Sullivan (2 months ago)
If it's only able to be blocked by one creature call it "Dualist"
takethepowerback83 (2 months ago)
The only creatures I like are those with flying and/or trample.
Mattman324 (2 months ago)
Flying and Menace are definitely not redundant in limited - lots of decks are liable to get one flying blocker, but not two.
Bronzeager (2 months ago)
How about the ultimate redundant combo: flying and menace
Sid Swami (2 months ago)
Stormblood Berserker is my favorite menace card
Valentino Reid (2 months ago)
Menace has an interesting history
Dandy Flare Blitz (2 months ago)
Nice thumbnail. I firmly believe the Ferocidon needs to be unbanned. Tibalt has officially won more games than it
jacob blackman (2 months ago)
Dandy Flare Blitz I think they won’t just because it will prove the point that ferocidon got banned because of Hazoret
'Drew Swenson (2 months ago)
Yes please!
The Living10 (2 months ago)
I wish there was more commander cards, but for the most part it's standard or modern.
Jim Harris (2 months ago)
You can always go to EDHREC and look up the stats but I agree it'd be an interesting side analysis for popularity in Commander. Rampaging Ferocidon is only in 1% of 95,806 decks for example. Seems like it'd be more popular for what it does.
ryo kamen (2 months ago)
when menace gets bigger most of these cards if not all will fall off I feel. only a couple are currently eternally playable, and that is how you continue to get points. since almost all these were standard all-stars and nothing more, I am curious to see how this will change in 2 years time

alasanof (2 months ago)
I wonder which cards have the absolute highest points using think grading scale.
Mattman324 (2 months ago)
Thoughtsieze fucking wrecks Negate. Negate has like 200 points, I think the last time it got brought up Thoughtsieze had like 450.
jacob blackman (2 months ago)
Devin McCourty thoughtsieze isn’t close it would be a card repeatedly repainted in standard so negate duress birds
Julian Barbieri (2 months ago)
Spellskite is up there, and so is duress
Devin McCourty (2 months ago)
Ferila not including basic lands, I believe thoughtseize, Lightning Bolt and Negate are the top 3
Ferila (2 months ago)
Basic lands, surely
Earth (2 months ago)
What about 10 Allied and Enemy colored pair cards? Or top 1 card from each of the ten guilds and/or shards?
Mattman324 (2 months ago)
Shards and wedges are going to be hard, I don’t know if you’ll even have ten to choose from for some of them.
Nizzahon Magic (2 months ago)
@Earth Yup!
Earth (2 months ago)
@Nizzahon Magic Well there are still the shards.
Nizzahon Magic (2 months ago)
Yep, did it
BrainlessEd (2 months ago)
@Earth I believe he did do top 10 from each color pair, not just guild cards. Alot of the cards just happened to be guild cards because the ravnica sets tend to have strong 2 color cards.
Austin Munday (2 months ago)
Nizzahon should be on Allied Strategies podcast. or create his own!
